Victor Barry, Owner and Executive Chef
An Ontario chef born and bred, Victor began his culinary journey at a local pizzeria in Niagara on the Lake. Through a work ethic that his father instilled in him early on, Victor would strive to reach further, challenge himself and hone his culinary skills to work at the highest level.
This desire for excellence would take Victor to work in Toronto at the age of 18 and then overseas to Gidleigh Park, a two-star Michelin restaurant in the South West of England. It was during this period that Victor developed his love for fine dining and a deep respect for each and every ingredient used in the process.
In 2005, Victor returned to Toronto and began his tenure at Splendido Restaurant. Over the next four years, Victor would work relentlessly to achieve his dream of owning and operating his own restaurant. In 2009 Victor would become a co-owner of Splendido Restaurant with partner Carlo Catallo. By 2014 Victor would be sole-owner of Splendido, and begin his mission to redefine fine dining in Toronto. One year later, Splendido was ranked 5th on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants list.
With his new launch, Piano Piano, Victor is more focused than ever to produce the best Canadian gastronomical experience for every guest that visits his restaurant.
