Elia Herrera, Executive Chef
Hailing from Cordoba, Mexico, Elia’s recipes have been passed down through many generations of her family. She came to Toronto in 2004, after going to the Instituto Culinario de Mexico, and then studying and working in Spain. Elia started her career in Toronto as a pastry chef, with stints at some of the city’s fineest dining restaurants, including Canoe, Scarpetta, Sassafraz, Ultra Supper Club and Mistura. Since then, she has developed a reputation as one of Toronto’s top female executive chefs. Elia draws her inspiration to create new dishes from her Mother and Grandmother, and brings an overwhelmingly positive energy to her kitchen and restaurants. She takes great pride in bringing authentic and fresh Mexican food and culture to downtown Toronto.
